Anglo-Russian petroleum joint venture TNK-BP has poached Stan Miroshnik, a senior executive at Morgan Stanley.

Citing sources close to TNK-BP, a report in Kommersant today said Miroshnik will join the energy company shortly.

Miroshnik, who has been with the US bank for nine years in various roles, follows the example set by former colleague Peter O’Brien who quit Morgan Stanley in 2006 to join Russian state-controlled oil giant Rosneft.

He is believed to have worked on Rosneft’s giant IPO in 2006 and subsequent M&A deals such as its acquisition of assets belonging to Yukos.
