Blockchain, IFRS 9, OTC derivatives to be discussed at GLC-arranged 2-day courses in Vienna

Event management company Global Leading Conferences (GLC) is organising two-day financial training courses in September – one on blockchain, one on IFRS 9 (the set of international financial reporting standards for financial instruments), and one on over-the-counter (OTC) derivatives.

All the courses will be held in Vienna on the same dates, September 21-22.

Blockchain 101 MasterClass – Blockchain Applications and Smart Contracts will be an introduction to blockchain technology with a review of its history and a description of its potential.

The extensive agenda of this course includes pros and cons of different options, reviews of blockchain platforms and blockchain-based apps, and regulatory issues.

The course will be delivered by Peter Bidewell, chief marketing officer at Applied Blockchain, a London-based blockchain applications development company.

Best practices, case studies, templates and step-by-step guidelines will be key features of the IFRS 9 Implementation and Stress Testing MasterClass, to be led by David Grunberger, head of IFRS Enforcement of the Austrian Financial Market Authority.

The OTC Derivatives, Collateral and EMIR MasterClass will, among other things, address serious challenges that are still posed by OTC derivatives despite regulatory measures launched after the global financial crisis of 2007-2008.

This session will be led by Michael Simmons, a trainer who has delivered 1,400 courses all over the world and is the author of three books – Securities Operations, Securities Operations and Collateral Management.

All the courses will take place at Mercure Hotel Westbahnhof, Felberstrasse 4, Vienna, 1150 Austria.

GLC is headquartered in Budapest.
