EXCLUSIVE: Russia’s BCS hires ex-RBS banker to run global collateral trading

By Andrei Skvarsky.

Russian investment firm BCS Financial Group has hired Christian von Gradowski, a former repo trader at Royal Bank of Scotland and Dresdner Kleinwort, as director of collateral trading at its global markets arm.

Von Gradowski will be based at BCS’s London office and “focus on the repo and stock loan presence to roll out BCS’s collateral trading and grow the product range available to clients”, Luis Saenz, head of equity and derivatives sales trading in the London team, told EmergingMarkets.me in an email.

The fields where von Gradowski has accumulated his main experience are repo, stock loan and borrow, total return swaps (TRS’s) and collateral financing structures.

Besides RBS and Dresdner Kleinwort, von Gradowski has held credit financing roles at the Kyte Group and Louis Capital Markets brokerages, and had a buy-side job at Ballance Group.

His latest pre-BCS employer was British hedge fund Structuring&Collateralised Financing.
