Gazprombank names ex-Swiss banker as head of asset management

Gazprombank has appointed Aylin Suntay, a former Swiss banker who joined the Russian lender in September 2012, {{{*}}} as head of asset management.

Suntay headed the small cap equities business at Geneva-based Pictet Asset Management for over a decade before leaving the firm a year ago. In her new position, she replaces Anatoly Miliukov, who recently left the banking arm of Russian natural gas major Gazprom, Russian news agency Prime said.

According to Russian business daily Kommersant, Gazprombank recorded one more senior exit recently, with Sergey Babayan stepping down as head of structured products.

Babayan joined Gazprombank in June last year. His work record includes senior roles at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Deutsche Bank, the Netherlands’ ABN AMRO, and Russia’s Troika Dialog and MDM Bank.

Miliukov spent seven years running Gazprombank’s asset management service. Previously he was chief executive of Alfa Capital, part of Russian investment banking consortium Alfa Group, for over four years.
