Guernsey Finance looking for CEO as Dominic Wheatley planning to quit

Guernsey Finance, a company acting as a promotional agency for Guernsey’s finance industry, is looking for candidates for the position of chief executive as incumbent Dominic Wheatley is quitting at the end of June 2020.

The application deadline is 5pm on January 24.

Applicants should submit a CV and covering letter to Guernsey Finance chairman Lyndon Trott (lyndon.trott@gov.gg), who is also deputy chief minister of the States of Guernsey (deputy head of the island’s government), but are advised to discuss the role of chief executive with him before applying.

Applications are accepted from candidates based either in or outside Guernsey, which is a British crown dependency and an international financial centre.

Guernsey Finance, which is based in St Peter Port, Guernsey, is owned and funded partly by the States of Guernsey and partly by the local finance industry.

It promotes the island’s financial offering through channels such as Guernsey-branded and third-party events, facilitation of trade and governmental delegations, media relations and e-marketing campaigns.

Wheatley joined Guernsey Finance in December 2014. Most of his previous roles had been insurance jobs.
