By Andrei Skvarsky.

Petr Molchanov is rejoining Renaissance Capital after leaving the Moscow-headquartered investment bank several months ago and has been appointed as head of investment banking for Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States.

Before being rehired by RenCap, Molchanov headed the capital markets department at one of Russia’s biggest food retailers, Magnit.

Molchanov will be based in Moscow and report to Dmitry Gladkov, acting global head of investment banking, RenCap said in a statement.

In January, RenCap hired former Morgan Stanley banker Risana Zitha as chairman of the board of directors for South Africa and head of investment banking for Africa.

Zitha is based in London in his RenCap job, the bank said in a statement.

He has spent 18 years at Morgan Stanley, most recently as head of investment banking for Sub-Saharan Africa excluding South Africa. Previously he was Morgan Stanley’s head of investment banking for South Africa.
