Russia’s Arbat Capital hires ex-Aton trader for hedge fund project

By Andrei Skvarsky.

Arbat Capital, a Russian investment management firm, has hired Igor Azarov, a former trader at Aton, for a position that includes a senior trading role in a new hedge fund.

Yulia Bushueva, manager of the New Kremlin Fund, confirmed to EmergingMarkets.me that the equity hedging facility would be the key project of Azarov, who worked at UniCredit Securities before joining Aton.

One more newcomer at Arbat Capital, which was set up in 2006 and focuses on high-net-worth clients, is former Vedomosti reporter Anastasia Dagayeva, who was put in charge of client and media relations and event management.

The two new executives were lured to Arbat Capital by Bushueva, who also had stints with Aton and UniCredit Securities before joining the Moscow-based investment management company in April.
