Russia’s Sberbank parting company with marketing chief Marina Zhigalova-Ozkan

Marina Zhigalova-Ozkan, senior vice-president of Russia’s biggest lender Sberbank and head of its marketing and communications department, is leaving the bank nine months after joining it.

“In these difficult times I’ve made up my mind to focus on developing my own business,” a Sberbank statement quoted Zhigalova-Ozkan as saying.

Zhigalova-Ozkan has overseen marketing, communications, advertising services and media projects at Sberbank and companies in its group.

Before being hired by Sberbank in July 2019, she had headed Walt Disney Company CIS since its foundation 13 years before.

Earlier on, she had been first deputy CEO of Profmedia, a media arm of Russian gas giant Gazprom,vice-president of Russian conglomerate Interros and deputy CEO of Russia’s North-Western Shipping Company, and had worked at the headquarters in London of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
