Sberbank hires ex-Deutsche Bank analyst as global head of investment research

By Andrei Skvarsky.

Sberbank, Russia’s biggest lender, has hired former high-ranking Deutsche Bank analyst Yaroslav Lisovolik as global head of investment research.

Lisovolik, who has had a career of more than 20 years in economics and finance, headed the investment research department of Deutsche Bank’s Moscow operation for six years, Sberbank said in a statement.

In 2015, he was hired as chief economist by Eurasian Development Bank, a development institution whose members are Russia and five other former Soviet republics.

From 2001 to 2004 Lisovolik was adviser to the International Monetary Fund executive board member representing Russia.

Lisovolik is a Russian government expert and a programme director at Valdai Discussion Club, a Moscow-based think tank known for its high-profile annual discussion forums regularly addressed by President Vladimir Putin and other Russian leaders.
