Sberbank makes two hires for investment strategy roles

Sberbank has made two top hires for its investment arm Sberbank CIB, with Kingsmill Bond appointed as chief strategist and Andrey Kuznetsov as strategist, both joining from Citibank.

Both will be based in Moscow and report to Andy Smith, head of equity research  at Sberbank CIB, according to a statement from Sberbank.

International magazine Institutional Investor ranked Bond the number one Russian strategist in 2010 and the number two Russian strategist in 2012. He was declared the leading Russia strategist in a 2010 Extel Survey.

Bond was chief Russia strategist at Citi, which he joined after leaving Troika Dialogue in May 2011, when the Moscow brokerage was being acquired by Sberbank in the latter’s bid to set up an investment business.

He was a strategist with Deutsche Bank from 1997 to 2007.

Kuznetsov was Russian equity markets strategist at Citi. He had been a strategist at Troika Dialogue from 2007 to 2011 and an analyst at Sberbank between 2002 and 2007.
