Sberbank, Russia’s biggest lender, has announced it is going to part company with its head of international operations, Sergey Gorkov, and replace him with Svetlana Sagaidak, who would be discharged as head of corporate business to take up her new role.
The helm of the corporate business service would pass over to Anatoly Popov, who is being discharged as head of retail business, Sberbank said in a statement.
Sagaidak had held senior positions at some banks and financial organizations before joining Sberbank in 2008. At Sberbank, she headed the small business and troubled assets departments. She was appointed senior vice president in 2013.
Popov joined Sberbank as vice president in 2011. Before that he had worked at Amsterdam-headquartered telecommunications operator Vimpelcom, US food company Wrigley, and beer producer SUN InBev, the Russian subsidiary of Belgium’s InBev.
Gorkov, before being hired by Sberbank, had held senior jobs in the human resources departments of Yukos, Mikhail Khodorkovsky’s defunct oil company, and the Menatep bank, which had indirectly held controlling interest in Yukos. At Sberbank, he headed the human resources department before taking charge of international operations.
