Candriam to hand over the reins to Vincent Hamelink as current CEO moves to NY Life

By Andrei Skvarsky.

The role of CEO of global asset manager Candriam is going to pass to the company’s current investment chief Vincent Hamelink from Naim Abou-Jaoude, who is leaving as chief executive for a senior job at U.S. insurer New York Life, Candriam’s parent firm, in a reshuffle to take effect on May 1.

Candriam’s current sales and distribution chief, Renato Guerriero, will be appointed deputy CEO for global development and distribution of the Brussels-headquartered asset manager as part of the reshuffle, according to a statement from Candriam.

Abou-Jaoude will be CEO of New York Life Investment Management, a subsidiary of the insurance company. Simultaneously, he will take up the role of chairman of Candriam’s board of directors, New York Life and Candriam said in a joint statement.

Candriam has about $149bn of assets under management.
