Russian investment bank Renaissance Capital has re-hired its ex-analyst Francois Du Toit, appointing him as an insurance and real estate analyst in its Africa team.
Du Toit will be based in Cape Town and cover insurance stocks across RenCap’s African markets and real estate stocks in South Africa, the bank, which focuses on emerging and frontier markets all over the world, said in a statement.
He will report to Johann Pretorius, head of research for Africa.
Du Toit worked as an insurance analyst at RenCap for more than ten years before going over to Citibank. He only had a brief stint with the New York-headquartered firm before returning to Renaissance.
RenCap has access to about 50 markets with operations in Africa, Central and Eastern Europe, North America and Asia.
It has sales and trading teams in London, Nicosia, Moscow, New York, Johannesburg, Cape Town, Lagos, Nairobi and Cairo.
