Debt recovery company Lowell has hired John Peers, an ex-consumer risk manager at Bank of America, as chief executive of its British operation.
Peers will oversee the British business of all divisions of the Leeds-headquartered company, including debt buyer Lowell Financial, third-party services provider Fredrickson International and litigation services provider Lowell Solicitors. Lowell also does business in Austria and Germany.
As his most recent job, Peers has been director of credit risk and operations at Shop Direct, an online retailer operating in England, Wales and Ireland.
Before joining Shop Direct six years ago, Peers was the consumer risk executive for Europe at Bank of America and held senior managerial roles at MBNA.
Peers is due to take up the helm at Lowell later this year after receiving anticipated approval of his appointment from Britain’sFinancial Conduct Authority, Lowell said in a statement.
