Macquarie Capital, the advisory and investing arm of financial services group Macquarie, has hired Honggui Li, a former banker at Credit Suisse and UBS, as head of greater China.
Li has almost 25 years’ experience of business in greater China, according to a statement from Macquarie, a company headquartered in Sydney.
He was head of greater China at Credit Suisse and spent ten years at UBS, where he was deputy head of investment banking for China.
At Credit Suisse, Li worked with both privately- and state-owned companies and with clients in technology, the media, telecommunications, healthcare and industry, the statement said.
In his Macquarie job, he will be based in Hong Kong.
