A banking syndicate led by French bank Natixis has lent an Italian company about €82m ($92m) for building what would be the first-ever offshore wind farm in the Mediterranean Sea.
The money, borrowed by renewable energy company Renexia, is a package consisting of a term loan, a value-added tax financing facility and a standby facility, according to a statement from Natixis, the sole lead arranger for the loan.
Natixis is the corporate and investment banking arm of BPCE, France’s second-largest banking group.
The Beleolico wind farm will be a 30-megawatt generating facility, Natixis said.
