Renaissance Capital has announced two promotions in its Africa-focused equity products group, with Ali Khalpey being appointed as head of South Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa equities and Stanley Kariuki as head of equities for Kenya.
Khalpey, who joined Renaissance in January 2010 and is based in Johannesburg, was head of equities for South Africa before his new role. Previously he was Africa funds manager at New York-headquartered global investment manager BlackRock and oversaw South Africa equity sales at that country’s Investec banking group.
Kariuki, who is based in Nairobi, joined RenCap in 2011 as an equity trader and has led regional client coverage since then, the Russian investment bank said in a statement.
