Aton, Russia’s oldest independent investment bank, has made three top hires for its equity research team, recruiting men who previously worked as analysts at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Gazprombank and Alfa Bank.
Mikhail Ganelin will focus on financial, information technology and transport companies, Aton said in a statement.
Ganelin, who has 10-year equity research experience, arrives from Gazprombank, a bank forming part of the Gazprom group. Earlier he had worked at Sberbank CIB, the investment arm of Russia’s biggest lender, Sberbank.
Andrey Lobazov will be in charge of research covering metals and mining, fertilisers and real estate. He comes to Aton from BofA Merrill Lynch. Previously he had jobs with Russia’s Alfa Bank and IFC Metropol investment company, and had spent three years as an auditor at KPMG. He has been working in financial markets for more than six years.
Alexander Kornilov will specialise in energy companies. He comes from Alfa Bank and had earlier worked at Russia’s BCS Investment Company. He has had a financial market career of more than 13 years.
Aton has branches in 30 Russian cities and representative offices in Switzerland, Kazakhstan and Cyprus.
