Russia’s biggest lender Sberbank has vested vice-president Vladislav Kreynin with the duties of head of marketing and communications to supplement his current role of chief growth officer for the SberX ecosystem and named ex-Raiffeisen banker Igor Kobzar as chief executive of Sberbank Life Insurance.
Kreynin will receive the title of Sberbank senior vice-president as part of his new role, according to a statement from Sberbank.
The statement credited Kreynin with an array of achievements.
These include overseeing the bank’s rebranding in which “Sber” will gradually oust “Sberbank” as the company’s name and being instrumental in launching advertising business at Sberbank and in setting up the SberMarketing advertising agency.
Kobzar will replace Alexey Leonenko, who has decided to leave the Sberbank group.
Sberbank said in a statement on October 2 that Kobzar’s nomination was awaiting approval from the central bank.
Kobzar spent nearly nine years at Raiffeisen Capital, a Russian arm of Raiffeisen Bank International, first serving as chief investment officer and then as business development director.
Afterwards he was chief investment officer in the private banking division of Russia’s Alfa-Bank.
He joins Sberbank from Russia’s BCS Financial Group, where he was head of asset management.
Leonenko was put at the helm of Sberbank Life Insurance in March 2019.
Sberbank puts it to his credit that Covid-19 has not prevented the insurance company from uninterruptedly providing services for its clients. Moreover, during his CEO tenure the company speeded up claims settlements, according to a Sberbank statement.
