Russia’s Sberbank Asset Management has hired Roman Filatov, a banker with nearly 20 years’ experience, as head of equities portfolio management.
Filatov held senior roles at Russia’s Renaissance Investment Management in 2008-2009 and at Templeton Asset Management for 11 years before that.
He arrives at Sberbank, Russia’s biggest lender, from IXIA Asset Management, where he managed stocks issued in Russia, the United States and Europe, according to a statement from Sberbank.
Filatov’s appointment is part of the current staff buildout of Sberbank Asset Management, a former unit of Troika Dialog known as Troika Dialog AM until three weeks ago, when it changed its name as part of the merger between the Moscow brokerage and Sberbank.
