Sberbank, Russia’s biggest lender, has announced it will integrate its investment arm, Sberbank CIB, with its Corporate Business unit.
The reform, to be completed by the end of 2018, is planned as “a major step towards the bank’s technological transformation”, a Sberbank statement quoted the bank’s chief executive, Herman Gref, as saying.
Today’s head of Corporate Business, Anatoly Popov, will oversee both divisions while Igor Bulantsev and Alexander Bazarov will retain their current positions as co-heads of Sberbank CIB, the statement said.
