Sberbank International will have a new chief executive as from the start of 2020 with Timur Kozintsev, a former senior figure at Turkey’s Denizbank, replacing Igor Kolomeysky at the helm of the international business division of Sberbank, Russia’s biggest lender.
Kozintsev was hired by Sberbank in 2013 and, as its director for Turkey, oversaw the integration of Denizbank, acquired by the Russian lender in 2012, into the Sberbank group.
As chief risk officer of Denizbank, the role he took in 2015, he co-managed Sberbank’s sale of its Turkish subsidiary to Dubai-based lender Emirates NBD, according to a statement from Sberbank.
Kolomeysky was credited by Sberbank, which he joined in 2017, with organising a fruitful relationship between Sberbank International and the European Central Bank and with a key role in managing Denizbank’s sale to Emirates NBD.
