Italian bank UniCredit has recently hired the experienced Patrick Uebel from Deutsche Bank as a senior international equity sales executive covering clients in Europe, the US and the UK.
German-national Uebel had spent less than a year at Deutsche Bank in Moscow in its equity division. He had previously worked at DWS, the German bank’s retail fund management platform in Moscow and Deutsche Asset Management, its institutional funds business in Frankfurt as a portfolio manager.
French bank Crédit Agricole has appointed Matthias Warnig to its international advisory board.
Warnig, who has close links to the Kremlin, has nearly 20 years experience in international banking, including stints chairman and chief executive of Dresdner Bank in Russia. Since 2006, he has been managing director Nord Stream, the consortium of Russian and European energy companies set up to plan, build and operate a natural gas pipeline from Russia to Europe through the Baltic Sea.
Warnig’s appointment could signal further expansion by the French bank in the Russian market.
At the RTS Stock Exchange, investment banker Roman Lokhov has been appointed to the board of directors.
The RTS Board consists of 17 representatives of the leading investment companies and banks. Lokhov is the chief executive of the brokerage Otkritie, which recently ceded a minority stake to state bank VTB.
