VTB Capital has confirmed to EmergingMarkets.me that it has hired Ilya Veller from UniCredit Securities as senior manager for equity sales at its Moscow office.
Veller had a brief six month tenure at UniCredit’s Moscow brokerage, where he headed the special situations group. He previously oversaw sales at Russia’s Aton Capital, which had lured him from Renaissance Capital in January 2009 as part of the relaunch of its investment banking services but parted company with him last autumn.
Veller was a financial adviser at Morgan Stanley in 1999-2000.
Emergingmarkets.me last week reported that VTB Capital had boosted its fixed income team with the senior hire of Oleg Desh from HSBC.
